Abstract: Biometrics is rapidly evolving technology which is being widely used in forensics such as criminal identification and top-security prison, and has the potential to be used in a large range of civilian application area. Reliability in computer aided individual authentication is becoming increasingly important in the information-based world, for effective protection system. Biometrics is physiological character of human beings, unique for every person that are frequently time invariant and easy to obtain. Palm print is one of the relatively new physiological biometrics due to its stable and unique characteristics. The quality information of palm print offers one of the powerful means in personal identification.
