Abstract: Videos are a highly efficient and expressive media capable of capturing and presenting information. Every day, huge numbers of videos are uploaded online. In the field of computers, recognition of actions and scenes in videos based on web is one among the most critical problems. For the purpose of solving this issue in the identification and classification of videos, and the computing of the descriptors for videos is a significant job. It comprises of extraction of characteristics that represents the essential information present in the videos. This work yields a review of the research conducted recently in video analysis, inclusive of descriptor computation and recognition along with the classification of videos. Finally, an outline on the future scope on descriptor based video classification is also presented.
