Abstract: In the digital age, social media has emerged as a powerful tool for communication, networking, and information sharing. Its widespread popularity and accessibility have led to its adoption by governments worldwide to reach the public effectively. This chapter explores the role of social media in bridging the gap between government initiatives for human resource development (HRD) and the public. It examines how social media platforms have transformed the way governments communicate HRD policies, initiatives, and opportunities to citizens, fostering greater engagement, transparency, and inclusivity. The chapter also highlights the potential challenges and ethical considerations associated with the use of social media in HRD initiatives. Social media's integration with government HRD initiatives has immense potential to enhance access to resources, promote skill development, and empower individuals in the modern workforce.
