Abstract:	Describes a study which finds that the work status of women before marriage has a direct bearing on their age at marriage, and has a moderate influence through the time taken to initiate marriage after menarche. Education status of women has exhibited a greater role in influencing the age at marriage through the time taken to initiate marriage after menarche (indirect effect rather than its direct effect).
