Abstract: Two luminescent mixed ligand Cu (II) and Ni (II) complexes have been employed for the purpose of organophosphate detection. An effective quenching mechanism displayed by complexes revealed their potency to perform as a turn-off” sensor towards fenitrothion detection. Further, the performance on interference and concentration based studies were explored to establish the applicability of sensor in real environment. Also, SV and Job’s plot were constructed to estimate the detection limit, quenching efficacy and the stoichiometric binding between sensor and analyte.
