Abstract: Internal Migration is becoming one of the important factors in development of developing countries. People are migrating from rural area to urban area in order to seek better working condition. People migrate both for economic as well as for non-economic reasons. People when migrate; leave some of their family members behind them in the place of origin. Hence, whatever they earn in their place of destination, they save a part of it and send it to their members in the place of destination for varied reasons. Remittance is generally defined as the money that is been transmitted by the migrant workers to their households in the place of origin. This money is been used by the family members in their origin for asset accumulation, maintenance of expenditure, investment in profitable ventures. It acts as one of the major financial support for the migrant‟s family in their origin. Remittance plays an important role in the development of socio-economic status of the left behind families of the migrant peoples
