dc.description.abstractThe paper deals with the theoretical aspects and role of government in social entrepreneurship. Social Entrepreneurship is a platform or way in which people come together and work to create a sustainable society. It deals with the positive, social, economic and environmental outcomes for the society. The government plays an integral part in social entrepreneurship. Nowadays there is a gradual shift in policy orientation of India with innovation and entrepreneurship promotion strategy occupying high priority in the Government's strategic planning process. The Government has initiated various strategic initiatives for promoting knowledge-based entrepreneurship as a key for generating employment, global competitiveness firms and enhancing the supporting social business.en_US
