Abstract: Narcissistic Personality is characterized by a long-standing pattern of grandiosity, an overwhelming need for admiration, and usually a complete lack of empathy toward others. The present study was aimed at studying the narcissistic personality and perceived stress among the employees of a Shipyard in Kerala. By administering questionnaires narcissistic personality and perceived stress among the employees were assessed. The collected data was analysed with Mean, Standard Deviation, Correlation, and ANOVA tests. Results indicated a higher level of narcissism among the respondents of 30-40 years agegroup and a low level of narcissism among the above 40 years age group. A higher level ofstress and a low level of narcissism were observed among the female respondents. A high level of narcissism and a low level of stress were observed among the married respondents.There were significant differences in the level of stress among the respondents of different age, marital status and experience groups. There was a significant difference in the level of narcissism among the respondents of different gender. It was found that there was nosignificant correlation between narcissism and perceived stress.
