Abstract: All-solid-state lithium batteries, which utilize solid electrolytes, are regarded as the next generation of energy storage devices. Recent breakthroughs in this type of rechargeable battery have significantly accelerated their path towards becoming commercially viable. Nevertheless, the development of such devices is impeded by various obstacles, including limitations in ion transfer capability, interfacial hurdles, and chemical and electrochemical stability. This paper provides a comprehensive review of the latest advancements in all-solid-state lithium-based batteries. The main emphasis is on the fabrication techniques, novel solid electrolytes, and the application of advanced cathode and anode materials to expedite research and development in this field. Moreover, the feasibility of large-scale manufacturing of solid-state batteries has been evaluated. Finally, the most practical and effective approaches for the advancement of these batteries have been proposed and examined.
