dc.description.abstractPersonality is one among the many factors that act as a source of job satisfaction. According to Big Five Model, five basic dimensions underlie all others and encompass most of the significant variation in personality. The big five factors include extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, emotional stability and openness to experience. The present study was aimed at studying the five dimensions of the Big Five model and job satisfaction among the employees of automobile industry. A convenience sample consisting of forty five employees working in automobile industry participated in the study. Questionnaires were used to collect data from the employees. The collected data was analysed with Mean, Standard Deviation, Correlation, regression and ANOVA tests. Results indicated that there was a significant correlation between extraversion and emotional stability. There was a significant correlation between emotional stability and openness and also between emotional stability and job satisfaction. Twenty six per cent of the variation in job satisfaction was explained by the five big five personality dimensions namely extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, emotional stability and openness to experience.en_US
